Check Point Certified Specialist - IPS-1(CPCS-IPS-1)Exam Details:

Check Point offers certifications of two types,one is Security certifications and the other is Specialist certifications. 

Check Point Specialist certifications are designed for security professionals who want to focus on specific Check Point technologies or products, and achieve recognition as a certified Check Point expert by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and proficiency.

Professionals who earn Check Point Certified Specialist – IPS-1 certifications should have a proven understanding of the basic concepts and skills necessary to successfully support IPS-1. And should have in depth knowledge in installation, configuration, and using IPS-1 to monitor network-intrusion alerts.

The required exam to be taken is: 156-704

 

Exam Objectives(Brief):

  1. Threats to network security
  2. Intrusion prevention system
  3. Internal functions of Check Point IPS-1
  4. Installing configuring  IPS-1 components
  5. Monitor IPS-1 alerts
  6. Configure IPS-1 Sensors and IPS-1 Power Sensors
  7. Generate IPS-1 alert reports and subreports

Exam Duration: 

Check Point exams are for a duration of 90 minutes for US, UK, S.A. and several other countries

Exam Format: 

Linear format as of now. The exams are composed of multiple choice and scenario questions.

Prior requirements: 

There are no prior requirements for taking the exam. But, candidates are expected to have 6 months to 1 year of experience in related field.

Exam Validity: 

All CCSEs earned on Check Point NG with Application Intelligence will remain current until the next major release of Check Point NGX.
