About Check Point Certified Security Administrator NGX (CCSA NGX) 156-215.1:

CCSA NGX certification is one of the most widely  recognized security certifications available.

The foundation of Check Point certifications, CCSA NGX certification validates a Security Administrator's ability to maintain day-to-day operation of Check Point security solutions and ensure secure access to information across the network. Proficiencies include creating and installing security policies, using logging and reporting features, and managing anti-spoofing, Network Address Translation (NAT), and OPSEC applications.

156-215.1 is the only exam that one needs to pass for obtaining CCSA NGX certification.

 

Exam Objectives (brief):

  1. Security Policy's properties 

  2. Private IP-address allocation and unregistered internal addressing schemes

  3. Monitoring tools to track, monitor, and account for all connections logged by Check Point components.

  4. Protect organizations  network attacks using SmartDefense 

  5. Verify the identity of users logging in to VPN-1 NGX, using VPN-1 NGX authentication schemes

  6. Implement LDAP and integrate it with VPN-1 NGX SmartCenter Server

  7. Advanced NGX features to minimize the information-security management burden

  8. Compare and contrast common encryption methods.

Exam Duration: 

CheckPoint exams are for a duration of 90 minutes for US, UK, S.A. and several other countries

Exam Format: 

Linear format as of now. The exams are composed of multiple choice and scenario questions.

Check Point exams are offered through Pearson VUE in 3500 locations worldwide. Please check with Pearson VUE website for available in your country/location.

Exams vary in price between US $150-$200.

Prior requirements:

There are no prior requirements for taking the exam. But, candidates are expected to have 6 months to 1 year of experience in related field.

Exam Validity:

All CCSEs earned on Check Point NG with Application Intelligence will remain current until the next major release of Check Point NGX.
